Karakol trek
The trek is across a small territory, but it is a territory of great contrasts where is the prairie landscape is coupled with breathtaking mountains. There is an unique zonality with almost all types of landscape from all over the world. They are sunny beaches of the lake Issyk-Kul, spruce forests, Alpine meadows, mountain rivers, picturesque high-mountain lakes, various fantastical rocks, passes hidden by the clouds, overhanging heap of ancient glaciers, healing springs, multifarious fauna, primevalness of primary nature. Having been here it is possible to make not only an engrossing journey, but to visit one of the most interesting regions of Tien-Shan, that is popular with travel enthusiasts.

Day 1. Arrival in Bishkek or Almaty. Transfer to Karakol town, accommodation in the “Neofit” guest house.
Day 2. Day in Karakol, going sightseeing, rest at the Issyk-Kul lake. Preparation for the route.
Day 3. Drive to Ak-Suu resort, to the beginning of the route, ascent of the Apyr-Tor pass (3700m). Descent along the gorge to termal radon springs of Altyn-Arashan valley.
Day 4. Walk through the picturesque gorge, bathing in termal radon springs. Rest.
Day 5. Ascent to the Ala-Kul Lake, and descent to the gorge.
Day 6. Crossing to Kum-Tor glacier, to Dzhigit peak (5130m) through Ayu-Tor pass, passing by the highest summit of Terskei Ala-Too range – Karakol peak (5181m) along Oyu-Tor glacier to the previous stop.
Day 7. Crossing across the Karakol gorge up to the road. Drive to Karakol, accommodation in the “Neofit” guest house.
Day 8. Rest. Drive to Dzheti-Oguz gorge to the high-mountain spa resort.
Day 9. Swimming and sunbathing on the coast of Issyk-Kul Lake. Preparation for departure.
Day 10. Transfer to the airport, Bishkek or Almaty. Departure.
